Architecture and landscape architecture majors in the Mississippi Gulf Coast Collaborative Studio have spent the year exploring ways to respond and adapt to ongoing struggles of Mississippi Gulf Coast communities.
A mile-long trail featuring a raised boardwalk now offers the public access to a nature-focused amenity in Ocean Springs thanks to a partnership between Mississippi State’s Gulf Coast Community Design Studio and the Land Trust for the Mississippi Coastal Plain.

The Mississippi State University Gulf Coast Community Design Studio is collaborating with the Gulf Coast Community Foundation for an event that will include presentations by 3 Gulf Coast teams who can receive up to $4,000 each to kick-start their project ideas. Additionally, we’ll be joined by a stellar advisory panel who will be engaging the candidate project teams in meaningful dialogue around their projects:

As part of an outreach/education project sponsored by Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), the Gulf Coast Community Design Studio has produced the LID Gulf Coast Story Map.
The 12-week training will provide hands-on experience with researchers who are making a difference in their communities.
