Research Centers

There are three research centers with the College of Architecture, Art, and Design. The Fred Carl. Jr. Small Town Center, STC, provides meaningful design and planning solutions for small towns. The Gulf Coast Community Design Studio, GCCDS, was established in response to Hurricane Katrina to provide architectural design services, landscape and planning assistance, educational opportunities and research to organizations and communities along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The Jackson Community Design Center, JCDC, is a design studio housed in the School of Architecture’s fifth-year Jackson Center that adapts to the needs of the city and provides community design services, project visualization, educational outreach and research/analysis for associations that are working to make a viable, healthy urban environment.
