Today we presented our cardboard sitting device project that we’ve been working on for the past few days! Dr. Hunter joined us for the critiques, and we were able to have some great feedback on the work done by the students. We began our project in the Cotton District, and we will continue and finish it on Friday. We can’t WAIT to show everyone what we have done this week on Saturday.
Stay tuned for our update tomorrow!

"Buildings of Mississippi" was a decade-long project of Emeritus Professor of Architecture Michael W. Fazio and his co-author, Mississippi Department of Archives and History Chief Architectural Historian Jennifer V. O. Baughn.
We are finishing up our cardboard sitting device, and we have had a full day of presentations and critiques. Despite a little rain, we were able to have some awesome work today. Tomorrow we will be testing the seating devices and then starting our two-day final project! We will be introducing site planning, design methods, and we will listen to a few presentations! Stay tuned for more updates!

An update on our second full day of camp....
Professor Jake Gines and Dr. Christopher Hunter spoke to our campers this morning about architectural practice, design fundamentals and personal experiences in the field of design. Professor Gines teaches multiple studios and courses here at MSU, and is a vice principal at Method Studio in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Campers were able to design their own logo with their initials today and used the fundamental model making practices they have learned up to this point.
The U.S. District Judge graduated from MSU in 1987.
Here is a quick update on Design Discovery 2021.
We had a sketching workshop with Professor Hans Herrmann who helps run first-year studios here at Mississippi State.
Campers have continued working on their Instant Environment project today, and we are finalizing our designs and sketching out our final structure.
After dinner tonight, we will have a design review with all of our groups in the auditorium and then begin our second project of the week!
