QCAAD

QCAAD, or Queer students in the College of Architecture, Art and Design, strives to create a safe space for students and faculty in architecture and the allied arts who are members of the LGBTQIA+ community and welcomes allies. The club hosts weekly study hangouts and craft events during the semester, represents CAAD in the yearly Starkville Pride Parade, and coordinates LGBTQIA+ History Month events during October. QCAAD serves as a space for open dialogue about queer identity and expression within CAAD, and exists to support its members through academic and personal struggles arising from being a queer design student in the South. It also promotes recognition of queer designers throughout history, and aims to fill in gaps in current design education.
