Your Body and Its Use
In this body of work, I chose to focus on the human body and its significant yet violent and brutal use within human culture. By choosing the four categories of religion, war, identity, and infection, I’m able to translate how the body is the epicenter of worship, exploitation, identity, and an expression of fear. These works are divided into two subcategories. Religion and war are external forces acting upon the body, while intangible feelings like identity and fear are expressions from within that use the body to manifest. Within human culture, the body becomes more than just a bipedal creature. It serves as a product and reflection of the internal and external cultural forces that shape it.
