Building construction science students earn top-10 spot at national competition

A sophomore building construction science major, Makayla Martin first discovered her love for this work after taking a shop class in her Mission, Texas, high school where she made a cutting board with many different types of wood.
The Building Construction Science Career Fair was held on February 19, 2026, at The Mill Conference Center. There were 116 students and 54 employers in attendance.
The Building Construction Science Career Fair was hosted by the MSU Career Center at The Mill on September 11, 2025. This year, 65 employers attended, looking to offer internships, co-ops and full-time positions. By the end of the event, 363 students had shown up with their resumes, smiles, good attitudes and dressed to impress. We hope to see everyone at the next fair!
