Established in 1973 by the Board of Trustees of the Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning, the first class of 16 students graduated from the MSU School of Architecture in May 1978.

The second edition of the Mississippi State University School of Architecture Alumni Design Awards brought many excellent submissions reflecting the creativity, dedication and craft of our alumni across the nation.

Caleb A. McWhorter is the university’s 2025 recipient of the $20,000 Aydelott Travel Award, and Evelin “Jo” Aguilar is receiving a $4,750 Trussell Travel Award.
We are excited to announce the Call for Abstracts for FORMcities 2.0: Currents of Midsized Cities, a regional symposium hosted by the Jackson Community Design Center and Mississippi State University’s School of Architecture.
The third-year studio designed a mixed-use, multi-family housing project at the corner of B.B. King Boulevard and Court Avenue in downtown Memphis.
