What is the Design Leadership Foundation?
The Design Leadership Foundation’s goal is to provide access and opportunity to design students who need support, providing them with tools and experiences that will help them become thriving professionals in the design industry. Their mission is to provide local-to-local opportunities for design professionals to engage with students in their community, enhancing both their impact in their region as well as the future of the design community.
This event is for all architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture students. Lunch will be served.
Morning Session: All Freshmen and Sophomores
- 8:45 a.m.—Check-in (Freshmen and Sophomores), Bost Lobby (scan QR to sign in; get nametag)
- 9:15-10:30—Welcome + Presentation/Panel (Bost theater)—freshmen (122 students)
- 9:15-10:30—Welcome + Roundtable Discussions (Bost auditorium, north)—sophomores (111 students)
- 10:45-11:45—Presentation/Panel (Bost theater)—sophomores
- 10:45-11:45—Roundtable Discussions (Bost auditorium, north)—freshmen
- 12:00-1:00— Buffet Lunch and time for informal conversations with DLF professionals. Food will be located in Bost South auditorium; seating for lunch is available in both auditoriums. (Morning Session guests: DLF, 233 students, faculty)
* Freshmen and Sophomores will be done after lunch. (Be sure to check your email around 5 p.m. to sign up for an interview time on Friday).
Afternoon Session: All Juniors and seniors+
- 12:45 p.m.—Afternoon Session Check-in (Juniors, Seniors+). Bost Lobby (scan QR to sign in; get nametag)
- 1:00-2:00— Buffet Lunch and time for informal conversations with DLF professionals. Food will be located in Bost South auditorium; seating for lunch is available in both auditoriums. (Afternoon Session guests: DLF, 227 students, faculty).
- 2:15-3:45— Welcome + Presentation/Panel (Bost theater)—juniors (126 students)
- 2:15-3:45— Welcome + Roundtable Discussions (Bost auditorium, North)—seniors+ (101 students)
- 4:00-5:00—Presentation/Panel (Bost theater)—seniors+
- 4:00-5:00—Roundtable Discussions (Bost auditorium, North)—juniors
*Juniors and seniors+ will sign up for their mock interview slot/s during the workshop.
Interviews will take place in McCool Hall on Friday, Jan. 23 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1:30-4 p.m. (20 min. interviews).
Students should come dressed and prepared for an interview with resumes, etc. Check-in will be in the McCool Hall conference room 117.
