CAAD 2008 ALUMNUS OF THE YEAR TO SPEAK

Michael Chaney produces films and time-based media works that address the interplay of spirituality and social constructs using multiple-channel video, film, sound and performance.

Currently teaching at Savannah College of Art and Design in their Film and Television Program, his films have been included in numerous film festivals all of the world in such places as Scotland, The Netherlands and at the Cannes Film Festival.  He has also done industry work for such high profile clients as Hearst Publications, the New York Times Co., and the United States Peace Corps.

Michael attended MSU from 1986 to 1988. He completed a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree at the Art Center College of Design and a Masters of Fine Art degree at  the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University.

He will be speaking about his work on Friday, February 1, 2008 at 2:00 PM in Stafford 100.
