There are three major field trips that students attend during their time at Mississippi State. There are numerous smaller, day trips that occur throughout their education.

In ID 3614, students travel to Asheville, NC, and Atlanta, GA. They tour Biltmore, Atlanta Decorative Arts Center (ADAC), several design firms, several showrooms, and the Georgia Aquarium where they meet with the facilities manager. In addition, they travel south to Lagrange, GA, to tour a carpet design/manufacturing center.

In ID 4644, students travel to New York, NY, to visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Guggenheim Museum, Grand Central Station, MOMA, Ground Zero, New York Design Center, the D & D Building, Several Design Firms, Several Showrooms, and other landmark sites.
