The MSU Department of Art welcomes you to a vital and growing 21st Century art and design program.
Physically speaking, the Department doubled its space in 1972 and 1982 by acquiring Briscoe and Freeman Halls on the north side of campus. In 1997, Stafford Hall opened its doors to the growing program. It has been over fifty years since these three temporary structures were built as dorms to house the students who fled the famous Old Main Dormitory fire, and now these renovated buildings house the largest studio art program in Mississippi.
