AIA Mississippi is issuing an open call for photographs of architecture in Mississippi.
 
Open to professional and amateur photographers, selected prints will be exhibited at the Mississippi Arts Center from March 7 through April 11 of 2009 in the AIA Mississippi Exhibition
 
Mississippi Celebrates Architecture
The Art ● The Passion ● The Vision
 
In conjunction with other exhibits featuring:
Art by Architects
Mississippi’s Favorite Architecture
And the national touring exhibition
America’s Favorite Architecture  
 
The deadline for submissions is January 15, 2009

Submission Rules and Form
 
1. All submissions will be in print form and will be of architecture located within the state of Mississippi. These may be any structure built by man, including but not limited to, historic and modern buildings, ruins, industrial sites, and prehistoric sites.  Photographs may be recently taken or may be submitted from the photographer’s archive collection.  Photographs of structures under construction are acceptable.
2. The chosen photographs will be displayed from March 7, 2009 through April 11, 2009 at the Mississippi Arts Center along side America’s Favorite Architecture, a national touring exhibition, and other special exhibits.
3. The competition is open to professional and amateur photographers.
4. The submission deadline is January 15, 2009.
5. There is no limit on the number of submissions per photographer nor is there a size limitation.
6. All submissions will be mailed or hand delivered to:

7. All prints must be mounted on 3/8” foam board with a 4-inch border on each side and placed in a protective clear sleeve.
8. Each print must be accompanied by this fully completed submission form placed inside the clear sleeve.
9. Labels with the following information must be typed and affixed to the upper left-hand corner on the reverse side of the print:

10. The jury will make their selections by January 23, 2009 at which time all photographers will be notified.
11. Photographs selected for exhibition will be delivered to Mississippi Art and Design Consultants by AIAMS. Contact information will be given to the photographer at that time. Framing will be paid for by the artist. Selected artists will be contacted by Jean Whitehead of Mississippi Art and Design Consultants to schedule framing appointments and to arrange for payment.   
12. All photographs may be picked up at the AIA Office at the Mississippi School of Architecture from Monday, April 13 through April 24, 2009. The offices are generally open from 8:00 until 5:00, Monday through Friday. Call 601-360-0082 to verify that the office is open. After April 24, photographs not picked up will be become the property of AIA Mississippi. These photographs may be used, with proper credit given to the photographer, for any and all non-profit promotional purposes by AIAMS. Your submission constitutes your agreement with this rule.
