Roy T. Decker, AIA / Anne Marie Decker, AIA Duvall Decker Architects, P.A.

Roy Decker and Anne Marie Decker are partners, in Duvall Decker Architects P.A., located in Jackson, Mississippi. Roy received a Master of Architecture from Kent State University. Prior to starting Duvall Decker Architects in 1997, he spent over a decade splitting his time between practice and teaching, and he has received recognition and honors for both of these endeavors. In 2004, he was honored to receive the Tau Sigma Delta Silver Medal Award from Mississippi State University School of Architecture for Achievements in Architecture, Education, and Service to the Profession. Anne Marie Decker is a summa cum laude graduate of Mississippi State University where she earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree. In 2004 she was honored by the Mississippi State University School of Architecture with the Alumni Fellow Award for her achievements in practice. Roy and Anne Marie recently served as the Paul Rudolf Visiting Professorship at the Auburn University School of Architecture.

Duvall Decker Architects has received numerous awards for design excellence. Most recently the Mendenhall Elementary School was honored with a 2009 AIA Gulf States Region Honor Citation. The Mississippi Library Commission was selected as a 2007 recipient of the prestigious American Architecture Award given by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design. The firm’s work has been most recently published in an article entitled “Inquiry in Practice and Experience” in the Journal of Architectural Education (JAE) Volume 61 Issue 1.

Roy and Anne Marie are members of the American National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) and the American Institute of Architects (AIA). Duvall Decker Architects is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
